This is an illustration I did of a cinnamon swirl, I started off by drawing the cinnamon swirl as a stand alone, but I felt that it needed something more, to make the illustration more visually interesting and more visually appealing. 

I decided to add some icing on the top of the cinnamon swirl, with some pooling by the side of the cinnamon swirl, along with some shadow to make it look like it wasn't floating. I also added a cinnamon stick as well, to add another element to the composition and to show the flavour of the cinnamon swirl.
